if it’s time to leave, here’s how to remove your account and keep anything you want to take with you.
before you go
If you want to keep your highlights and notes, export them before deleting your account: Profile → Settings → Export Highlights & Notes. Account deletion cannot be undone.
Cancel your subscription separately. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Read and cancel the subscription or trial. Deleting a Read account does not stop Apple billing. See subscription help.
delete your account in Read
- Open Read and sign in to the account you want to remove.
- Go to Profile and tap the Settings gear.
- Scroll to Delete Account and select it.
- Read the confirmation and confirm Delete Account. Keep an internet connection while the request completes.
what is removed
The deletion process removes your account-linked profile, uploaded profile photo, saved library, highlights, notes, and reading history from our backend and clears local account data on the device where you delete it. You are then signed out.
Your Apple Account is not deleted. Exported files, copies on other devices, public article caches, provider backups, and legally required or payment records may remain outside this process. Apple and RevenueCat handle purchase records under their own retention policies. Our Privacy Policy explains these exceptions.
can’t access your account?
Email notcodesid@gmail.com with the subject “Read account deletion”. Tell us you want to delete your Read account and identify the email or Apple relay address associated with it, if known. We may ask you to verify ownership before acting. Do not send your Apple password.
If deletion fails in the app or your profile data remains, contact us so we can investigate and complete your request.
